The Rookie
We
heard him top that mountain pass
The brakes began to squeal
He
headed down that six per cent
Hands clenched upon the wheel
Smoke was coming from the back
By
the time he hit the level
The color of his drums
Would have even pleased the devil
Sweat was pouring from his brow
When he pulled off to the side
He
shook his head in wonder
And said, “Man what a ride”
His trainer said, “You did OK
You kept it on the road
But next time we come over here
We
have to pull a load”
